We're delighted that you're here.
After an inspiring first year, we're excited to welcome applications for the second edition of the Kalavkaash Internship Program.
This is a one-year journey for people who are curious—about art, people, ideas, and themselves. Through thoughtfully curated art experiences, meaningful conversations, hands-on learning, and working alongside artists from across India, you'll discover not only how art is created and presented, but also how it can shape the way we think, connect, and live.
If you're looking for more than just an internship if you're looking for a community where you can learn, contribute, and grow we'd love to have you with us.
The Kalavkaash Internship Program is a year-long journey for people who are curious about art, people, and ideas.
It's a chance to experience what happens behind the scenes of performances, exhibitions, workshops, and cultural events. You'll work alongside the Kalavkaash team, interact with artists from across India, and learn how meaningful art experiences are imagined, organised, and brought to life.
More than anything else, it's an opportunity to learn about life through art.
If you're curious, open to learning, and willing to show up, this internship is for you. It's designed primarily for young people (18–28), whether you're a student, entrepreneur, working professional, freelancer, or simply figuring things out.
That said, we don't believe age defines you. If you're young at heart, eager to learn, and open to new people, ideas, and art forms, we'd love to hear from you.
Not at all.
You don't need a background in theatre, music, dance, or any other art form. You don't even have to be sure that art is "your thing."
If you're curious, willing to learn, and open to new experiences, you're exactly the kind of person we're looking for.
The rest will follow. 🌻
Because it's a place where you're encouraged to learn before you're expected to know.
At Kalavkaash, you're not joining us because you're already skilled—you’re joining because you're curious. You'll make mistakes, ask questions, try new things, work with people, and discover strengths you probably didn't know you had.
Whether you dream of becoming an artist, an entrepreneur, a researcher, a teacher, or simply a better human being, the experiences you gather here will stay with you long after the internship ends.
We don't just prepare you for your next opportunity—we hope to prepare you for life.
First things first, you won't be treated like an intern. You'll be treated like a part of the Kalavkaash family.
You'll help bring our events to life from backstage preparations and artist hospitality to audience experience, production, planning, and everything in between.
You'll attend meetings, share ideas, ask questions, solve problems, and work alongside the team. Some days you'll be moving chairs, and on others you'll be part of conversations that shape the event itself.
At Kalavkaash, no work is too small, and every experience is an opportunity to learn.
The internship runs from August 2026 to July 2027, but it's designed to fit alongside your studies, work, or other commitments.
Here's what we expect:
One Learning Circle every two weeks (around 1½–2 hours) to come together, reflect, discuss art and theatre, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
At least two Kalavkaash events every month. For each event, interns are expected to be available 2 hours before the event, throughout the event, and 2 hours after it.
85% attendance throughout the internship to be eligible for the certificate.
Above all, we value punctuality, consistency, and communication. If you commit to something, we expect you to show up. If life gets in the way, let us know we'll always try to work things out together.
Because meaningful learning takes time.
At Kalavkaash, we don't meet every day. We meet, learn, create, host events, and then return to our everyday lives. This rhythm gives you the space to balance your studies, work, or personal commitments while staying connected to the internship.
The first few months are for you to get to know Kalavkaash. The next few months are for us to get to know you. Somewhere in between, we build trust, friendships, and a shared way of learning.
We believe that consistency over a year teaches far more than intensity over a few weeks.
Hopefully, much more than a certificate.
You'll become part of a community that you'll always be welcome to return to. A place where you can ask questions, share ideas, experiment, and grow without the fear of being judged.
Along the way, you'll build practical skills in communication, teamwork, leadership, event management, and problem-solving. You'll also spend time with artists from across the country, learning from their journeys, ideas, and experiences.
Most importantly, we hope you'll leave with a little more curiosity, a little more sensitivity, and a little more joy than when you arrived.
No, this isn't a paid internship. But it is a year of experiences that are difficult to find elsewhere.
Throughout the year, you'll work closely with artists from across India, be part of thoughtfully curated cultural events, learn practical life and management skills, build lasting friendships, and become part of the Kalavkaash family.
There is no application fee or internship fee. Any approved expenses you incur while working on official Kalavkaash events will be reimbursed by the Foundation.
If you're looking for a monthly stipend, this may not be the right internship for you. If you're looking for meaningful experiences, genuine mentorship, and a community that you'll carry with you for years, we'd love to meet you.
Not at all.
You can speak and write in Marathi, Kannada, Hindi, or English whatever you're most comfortable with.
If you're unable to read or write in English, just give us a call. We'll happily help you fill out the application form.
We're looking for curious minds, not perfect English.
The selection process has three simple stages:
1. Application
Fill out the online application form. It takes about 5–10 minutes.
2. Selection Workshop
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a theatre-based workshop where we'll learn, create, move, and work together.
3. Personal Interview
Applicants shortlisted from the workshop will be invited for a one-on-one conversation with the Kalavkaash team.
The final list of selected interns will be announced within five days of the Selection Workshop.
One last thing this isn't about winning or losing. We see the selection process as the beginning of a conversation, not the end of one.
Not being selected doesn't mean you don't belong at Kalavkaash. We simply have a limited number of internship positions each year.
We'll let you know the outcome of your application once the selection process is complete.
And here's the important part you don't have to be an intern to be part of the Kalavkaash family.
Come for our events. Join our conversations. Volunteer when you can. Meet artists. Meet people. Keep showing up.
The internship is just one way of being part of Kalavkaash not the only way.
Applications are open from 2nd August to 18th August 2026.
We can't wait to meet you.
See you at Kalavkaash. 🌻
